WoW Shadowlands: Best Legendary Powers for Each Spec and How to Acquire Them Part 1

www.lootwowgold.com

World of Warcraft Shadowlands introduced several dozen legendary items to the game that can be crafted by players using the new Soul Ash resource along with various other materials. While the new crafting system has been generally well received by the community, some players may find it a bit overwhelming. Especially those who are only now dipping their toes into WoW Shadowlands for the first time. That’s because you should know what your best-in-slot legendary power is before you craft the accompanying item. And, of course, you’ll need to be able to acquire the power in the first place.

Unfortunately, experimenting with legendries until you find the best one for you spec isn’t really viable due to the scarcity of Soul Ash. You also need quite a bit of gold in order to purchase the base items that serve as vessels for the legendary powers. However, that’s only a minor problem because if you want to buy WoW gold you can simply visit the LootWowGold website and get it for very cheap. What isn’t a minor problem is getting your hands on the best legendary power for your class and spec, but don’t worry because we’re here to help.

This handy guide will give you a quick overview of all BiS powers for every spec and where to find them. Just keep in mind that some BiS legendries will probably change with the launch of WoW Shadowlands Patch 9.1 later this year. This guide is meant to cover best powers in the current Patch 9.0.2 and the upcoming Patch 9.0.5. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at the best legendary powers for each class (in alphabetical order).

Death Knight – Blood

Bryndaor’s Might: Death Strike refunds 15% of Runic Power spent if it heals you for more than 10% of your maximum health.

This is a very good defensive power that procs very often but requires you to be on top of your resource management in order to make the most out of it. Bryndaor’s Might drops from Mort’regar Layer 3+ in Torghast so it’s pretty easy to get even on a fresh alt. In certain situations Supestrain (which allows you to apply all three of you diseases at once) could be more effective but this one is trickier to get as it only drops from Stone Legion Generals in Castle Nathria.

Death Knight – Frost

Koltira’s Favor: Obliterate deals 10% increased damage and has a 12% chance to refund 2 runes.

A very straightforward flat increase to your DPS that’s particularly useful during boss fights. You may struggle a bit to get your hands on Koltira’s Favor as it only drops from Sludgefist in Castle Nathria but the effort is well worth it. If you’re not looking to raid, however, you’ll probably want to go for the Biting Cold power instead, which increases the damage of Remorseless Winter by 30% and procs Rime the first time the ability damages at least 3 enemies.

Death Knight – Unholy

Frenzied Monstrosity: Dark Transformation also increases the attack speed and damage of you and your monstrosity by 12%.

Minions already account for a large chunk of your damage output as an Unholy DK, so this is a natural pick for squeezing in even more DPS. Frenzied Monstrosity is a good choice for all types of content and is pretty easy to get since it drops from the world boss Nurgash Muckformed. Deadliest Coil, the best alternative, buffs both Death Coil and Dark Transformation but is very difficult to recommend to new players because it only drops from Sire Denathrius.

Demon Hunter – Havoc

Collective Anguish: Casting Eye Beam summons and allied Vengeance Demon Hunter who casts Fel Devastation.

Havoc Demon Hunters have a couple of good legendary options in Shadowlands but we like Collective Anguish the most at the moment because of its reliability. Unlike with most of the alternatives, you don’t have to worry about proc chance with this one because the effect is always guaranteed. If you don’t mind legendaries with proc chances, however, you may want to go for Chaos Theory instead. Both powers drop from Castle Nathria bosses.

Demon Hunter – Vengeance

Fiery Soul: Each Soul Fragment Consumed by Soul Cleave reduces the cooldown of Fiery Brand by 2 seconds.

Fiery Soul is an excellent power to go for shortly after hitting level 60 because you can easily get it from Torghast, The Soulforges Layer +3. Interestingly enough, the Havoc recommended power, Collective Anguish, works just fine for Vengeance as well, though the effect is reversed in this case.

Druid – Balance

Balance of All Things: Entering Eclipse increases your critical strike chance with Arcane and Nature spells by 40%, decreasing by 8% every 1 sec.

Balance Druids are very strong right now in WoW Shadowlands and this power gives them even more insane DPS than usual while its effects last. There are a couple of other decent options like Primordial Arcanic Pulsar but Balance of All Things is arguably the best-rounded of the bunch. As an added bonus, you can easily grab it from Torghast, Skoldus Hall Layer 3+.

Druid – Feral

Apex Predator’s Craving: Rip damage has a chance to make your next Ferocious Bite free and deal the maximum damage.
Not the most impressive power compared to the Balance Druid legendaries but this is generally the best right now if you’re playing Feral. You can get your hands on it by completing Torghst, The Upper Reaches Layer 3+.

Druid – Guardian

Ursoc’s Fury Remembered: In Bear Form, Thrash has a 15% chance to trigger an additional Thrash. Thrash grants you an absorb shield for 75% of all damage it deals.

Unlike a lot of other specs in Shadowlands, Guardian Druids have 3 or 4 viable legendaries to choose from. Ursoc’s Fury Remembered is arguably the most versatile one as it has both an offensive and a defensive component. The power drops from Torghast, Coldheart Interstitia Layer 3+. If you’re looking for a purely defensive alternative, you’ll want to go for The Natural Order’s Will, which drops from Huntsman Altimor in Castle Nathria and grants some very nice benefits to Barkskin.

Druid – Restoration

Vision of Unending Growth: Rejuvenation healing has a 2.5% chance to create a new Rejuvenation on a nearby target.

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Get it from Torghast, Fracture Chambers Layer 3+ and enjoy your free Rejuvenations.

Hunter – Beast Mastery

Soulforge Embers: Launching a Flare into your Tar Trap causes up to 5 enemies inside of the Tar Trap to burn of (240% of Attack power) Fire damage over 12 sec.

Soulforge Embers takes some getting used to but it’s your best bet once you’re good at landing Tar Trap + Flare combos. Drops from Ingra Maloch in Mists of Tirna Scithe. You can also get Rylakstalker’s Piercing Fangs as an alternative if you’re looking for a more passive legendary power. That one drops from Devos in Spires of Ascension.

Hunter – Marksmanship

Surging Shots: Rapid Fire deals 25% additional damage, and Aimed Shot has a 15% chance to reset the cooldown of Rapid Fire.

The flat 25% damage buff to Rapid Fire is extremely potent and the power also allows you to use it more frequently thanks to its secondary effect. Drops from the world boss Oranomonos the Everbranching.

Hunter – Survival

Soulforge Embers: Launching a Flare into your Tar Trap causes up to 5 enemies inside of the Tar Trap to burn of (240% of Attack power) Fire damage over 12 sec.

Survival Hunters are in a pretty rough spot right now in World of Warcraft Shadowlands, but if you insist on playing one regardless, go for Soulforge Embers. The same power you should also get for Beast Mastery.

Mage – Arcane

Arcane Harmony: Each time Arcane Missiles hits an enemy, the damage of your next Arcane Barrage is increased by 7%. This effect stacks up to 15 times.

If you play your cards right, you can get this power to stack up very quickly and give you a much needed burst of damage at regular intervals. Temporal Warp and Arcane Bombardment are also good choices, but very situational. We recommend crafting Arcane Harmony before any other legendary. The power drops from The Manastorms, in De Other Side.

Mage – Fire

Fevered Incantation: Each consecutive critical strike you deal increases critical strike damage you deal by 3%, up to 15%.

This can be absolutely brutal when used along Combustion during your burst window. Firestorm could be better in certain situations but relies a lot more on RNG. Fevered Incantation drops from the world boss Oranomonos the Everbranching while Firestorm drops from Lord Chamberlain in Halls of Atonement.

Mage – Frost

Slick Ice: While Icy Veins is active, each Frostbolt you cast reduces the cast time of Frostbolt by 2% and increases its damage by 2%, stacking up to 10 times.

This is the most consistent legendary power currently available to Frost Mages. Not terribly strong but very good against single targets. Drops from Torghast, Mort'regar Layer 3+.

Monk – Brewmaster

Stormstout’s Last Keg: Keg Smash deals 30% additional damage, and has 1 additional charge.

This is one of those powers that almost looks too good to be true, and yet, you can easily acquire it from General Kaal in Sanguine Depths. The beauty of this power is in its simplicity and in how well it works in basically any type of content. Charred Passions is arguably a bit better against single targets but for everything else you’ll definitely want Stormstout’s Last Keg.

Monk – Mistweaver

Ancient Teachings of the Monastery: After casting Essence Font, your Tiger Palm, Blackout Kick, and Rising Sun Kick heal an injured ally within 20 yards for 250% of the damage done. Lasts 15 sec.

Mistweaver Monks have a better selection of legendaries at their disposal than most other classes so picking your main one can be difficult. For situations when you need a lot of burst healing, Ancient Teaching of the Monastery is an easy choice. Meanwhile, for a more well-rounded power we recommend going with Tear of Morning. The first drops from Devos in Spires of Ascension while the second drops from Sludgefist in Castle Nathria.

Monk – Windwalker

Last Emperor’s Capacitor: Chi spenders increase the damage of your next Crackling Jade Lightning by 100% and reduce its cost by 5%, stacking up to 20 times.

An absolutely devastating power against single targets, Last Emperor’s Capacitor should be your first pick when fighting against powerful enemies or for PvP content. Invoker’s Delight, which increases your haste by 33% for 20 sec. after summoning your Celestial, is a close second and actually better for AoE. Both powers drop from Castle Nathria. Choose the one that best fits your playstyle.

That’s it for part 1 of our list of best World of Warcraft legendary powers. Make sure to check out part 2 if you want to find out what the best legendaries are for the remaining classes and specs.
